Join us at the State Library of Western Australia to hear Kim Beazley talk of his challenging role recording the audio version of the book titled “Father of the House: the memoirs of Kim E Beazley”. The book was written by his father and is an inside story of one of Australia’s longest serving and most influential Ministers in Federal Parliament.

In addition to his many accomplishments in the political arena, Kim Beazley spent nine weeks with a member of the Association for the Blind of WA Audio Production team recording and finalising the audio for the novel.

The State Library of WA is pleased to host Kim Beazley in our Theatre as he shares with us his fascinating experiences recording the book, read pages from the book, tell some anecdotes of his relationship with his father and maybe reveal some of his future plans in Washington.

Please join us to also congratulate Kim and wish him safe travels on his journey across the pond to Washington, D.C..

With the roots of burlesque pegged squarely in the Middle Eastern art of bellydance, no burlesquer should be without a basic background in this sensual and seductive dance.

You will get the opportunity to perform a group Belly Dance to a Burlesque track at a Sugar Blue Burlesque Graduation show!

Join Clara Cupcakes as she teaches you the art of Hoola Hooping. Learn how to spin the hoop around your body with ease and get a great work out at the same time!
As well as learning this impressive skill, you will be on your way to having rock hard hoop abs!
Hoola Hoops will be provided to use at the course, but please bring your own if you would like to learn how to train with them. Clara will also have hoops to buy if you want to take some home to practice with.

The winning sculptures from the Make it with Newspaper contest are on display in The Place on the Mezzanine level in the State Library from Sunday 13th December to Sunday 31st January 2010. Winners are all primary and secondary students throughout WA.
