The narrative unfolds using spoken word, movement and a series of objects that play with notions of what may be perceivedas real. Inherent in the work is a humorous use of language, both in delivery and writing style. Ideas, themes and content loop back on themselves to create a dense and evocative theatrical experience. Rosie plays with notions of time and space, interweaving real and imagined worlds to create a compelling and insightful performance about the illusory nature of life

2 Dimensional Life of Her is a visual performance made of drawing, animation, puppetry, projection and paper. A richly imagined parallel world is awoken where drawings reproduce themselves, drift between surfaces and move in and out of three dimensions. You will be immersed in a world of floor to ceiling projections, mesmerising animations and walls that simply peel away. Standing at the centre of this world of light and shadows, your sense of reality will be teased and blurred.

Writer, academic and performer Paul Dwyer retraces three journeys made by his father Dr Allan Dwyer, a world-renowned orthopaedic surgeon, to Bougainville (PNG) during the 1960s, in which he healed dozens of crippled children.

Family stories become entwined with the larger narrative of Australia's colonial enterprise over the years following the opening of the giant Panguna copper mine, environmental devastation, a brutal civil war funded by Australia that cost the lives of up to 20,000 people, and finally, the post-war reconciliation process.

This one-man performance is politics and performance at its most personal.

Hand built by the artists out of scrap metal and old oil-stained canvas, The Tent sits at the crossroads of installation art, puppetry, video and performance. Led by Michael, an audience of 25 is invited to step inside the story of an unlikely male friendship. Brett, a modern day bush philosopher, finds Michael stuck in a hole, still in his pyjamas, in the middle of the bush. Brett takes the twenty-something city kid under his wing and they live together in his tentuntil their friendship falters over what to do with a lost cow.

Created by a young group of Sydney based theatre makers, led by Matt Prest, The Tent is a unique theatrical experience, a strange journey to the muddy crossroads of self- sufficiency and prolonged adolescence. The Tent sets up camp in PICA's main gallery. Come in, get warm, Brett should be back soon.

Outré Gallery is excited to be bringing US artist Josh SHAG Agle back down-under for another three city tour of Australia in August 2010. With exhibitions in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth we will be presenting original paintings, super-sized giclee prints on canvas (in especially small editions), new serigraph prints and rare prints.
The Perth exhibition will be the inaugural opening of the new Outré Gallery space in Northbridge. Having been selling and exhibiting artwork in Melbourne for the past 16 years, Sydney for the past 5, Outré Gallery is enthused to be opening a third location in Western Australia.

This exhibition is set to embrace Shag's new direction towards a darker mood, more surreal subject matter and more complex compositions.
Shag takes an artistic sidestep away from the retro iconography and lifestyle that has marked his career, with a whole new realm of crisply rendered dream-scenes, perfectly balanced hues and amazing narratives. These new style works will sit next to a collection of older prints and rare editions from the past.

The name of the exhibition refers to an exclusive (and mysterious) book that the artist has produced to accompany the paintings.

"Inscrutable Mystery Guide" is actually the little book that accompanies each small tiki painting. It's my hope that the books won't be seen by anyone except the person who owns one of those paintings. I want to bring them into my own little cult and tell them some secrets. - Josh Agle aka Shag

Outré will be hosting a series of gala openings across the three cities with the artist out from Los Angeles for the events.

There will be book signings with the artist on the first Saturdays in each city for his title "Autumn's Come Undone".

This exhibition will mark our first major international exhibition at our brand-new Perth Gallery in the freshly revitalised area of William Street, Northbridge.

YCulture Metro is a funding program that provides arts grants of up to $3,000 for young people aged between 12-26. YCulture Metro targets young metropolitan artists who are at an entry level in their arts practice and have had limited experience in grant application writing as well as initiating and coordinating projects.

YCulture can provide funds for projects (such as all-ages gigs) and skills development initiatives (such as workshops and creative developments).
