The 19 year-old Sydney producer has been inducing intrigue and interest for the online soundscapes and video creations stuffed inside his Tumblr (BrainSoSoft) & Vimeo (DC Vampira) accounts. They are the sights and sounds of a producer deeply into his passions & the amount of original material included is nothing short of astounding.

With releases on game changing record labels such as Ramp, Hum N Buzz & Trilogy Tapes, features in Resident Advisor, Pitchfork, and public support from anybody who's anybody in todays strange and twisted clubland, DRO CAREY is set to take over the cosmos.

His extraordinary music assimilates everything from classic techno and house, rap, juke, grime, tripped-out R&B, & old school 808 echoes to produce a peculiar skewed aesthetic. Comparable in some ways to Hype Williams productions, the mix of nostalgic chopped and looped samples with a fuzzy VHS finish.

He was named as one of the top ten producers to watch in 2011 by FACT Magazine, was included in esteemed UK selector Ben UFO's Rinse mix series entry, and SBTRKT & Zomby freakin' LOVE him.

Flume [Sydney]

FLUME is a Sydney beat maker who's only 20 (!) years of age. He started making beats when he was 13, using a production program he found in a cereal box.

Flume's debut EP Sleepless came out on Sydney label Future-Classic and has enough lush pads, chopped and chip-munked vocals, fat saw waves and spine tingling percussion to impress any fan of Hudson Mohawke, Seekae, FlyLo or Space Dimension Controller.

When too much Christmas turkey is not enough the GOLDEN TURKEY FILM FEST may be just the ticket! Join us for a night of cult cinema under the stars in the Perth Cultural Centre.

The Golden Turkey Film Festival serves up a feast of B Grade classics so endearingly terrible that they personify the so-bad-it's-good genre of filmmaking. Four B Grade classics with dialogue and acting so terrible, stories so ridiculous, sets that fall apart and effects so dazzlingly cheesy that you cannot afford to miss out.

These cult gems which have played in relative obscurity on television screens for years have now fallen into the genre of cult classics, fueled by fans of cinema atrocities and critics such as Michael Medved who coined the Golden Turkey Awards in his book of the same name. These Z grade classics are screening in big screen awesomeness on the massive LED screen in the Perth Cultural Centre.

New Years Day sees the screening of The 'Citizen Kane' of bad movies and ultimate cult flick, Ed Wood - PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE, Starring Vampira and Bela Lugosi, famed for his screen performance of Count Dracula, and who was deceased at the time of filming, but obstacles such as these are no match for the infamous Mr Wood, with Mr Lugosi still having scenes and starring role billing.

If you have a penchant for bad costumed alien invading lobsters, shaky and flaky sets coupled with acting and direction so mind-numbingly brilliant in its awfulness then this is the cinematic Holiday Seasons treat for you. If not cover your eyes and run.

Film screens at 8pm and is supported with a classic cartoon short.

This year is our 3rd New Years Eve, and once again, there’ll be no expensive tickets or bookings, just our usual friendly service and a good old fashioned family barbeque! We’ll have snags on the go with a BBQ plate for sale – two sausages in bread, potato (vegetarian) and green (vegan) salads and garlic prawns for just $15, punch at $5 a glass and extended trading until 1am so you can see in the new year properly.

2012 marks a decade of the Tom Malone Prize. This acquisitive award for Australian glass artists has been the platform for the Gallery to collect some of the best work being made in the country today. The combined exhibitions feature work by 2012’s shortlisted makers, all past winners and a selection of glass works from the State Art Collection. Works have been selected to bring to view objects which have been recently purchased, and those works that precede and parallel the works of the Tom Malone Prize acquisitions. The display broadens viewers’ understanding about what is happening in the glass world and what is possible in the medium of glass.
