dotdotdash Presents Monsters at the Outskirts

www.dotdotdash.org
The dotdotdash Collective Inc. presents Monsters at the Outskirts, an interactive installation that asks people to either have their photo taken dressed up as a monster, sketch a monster, or make monstrous sounds. These sketches, photos and sounds will be posted to a blog created for the event, alongside documentary-style descriptions of the monsters' habitat, appearance, abilities, behaviours, and mating rituals. We are interested in how people express their creatures of imagination, and particularly how, by expressing themselves they imbue a metropolitan, creature space with their spirit. They create an animalistic space, almost a space of nature.

The Night Air Smells Of Smoke And I Think Of You

www.facebook.com/MarijkeArtLoosjes
This series of photographs by Marijke Loosjes is presented as a form of lived art, exploring taboos, subcultures, the intimate and every day. Marijke is interested in what is deemed taboo and abject. She consciously and honestly explores these boundaries within society and her own life. She feels the need to document all her findings and experiences, then curate them together in a juxtaposing manner. She likes to create a mood, evoke strong emotions, give reason for question, allow confusion, connection and acceptance. Marijke Loosjes graduated from Curtin University of Technology in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Arts) Degree. EVENT TIMES: 10:00am - 4:00pm

For the first time in the suburb's history, an attempt to document the stories, pieces and individuals that made the Craigie Walls an important place in West Australian graffiti culture has been made. Craigie Tales is a publication about a suburb, a site and a mural arts program regulated by the painters that took ownership of three local high school tennis court walls.EVENT TIMES: 10:00am - 4:00pm
