A monthly LIVE collaborative hip hop jam with no bravado or bullshit!! Every month a band of misfits is assembled who improvise with their varied/limited abilities on various instruments. Two hosts freestyle, drop verses and sing. All culminating in a big on the fly jam that may or may not make any sense! The band plays two half hour sets. In the second set they encourage people from the audience who might be able to rap, sing or bang a drum to stand up and see what happens.. Presented by The Community & Flowlab. The courtyard at The Moon Cafe will now feature monthly exhibits by locally grown Perth artists. Launched on the second Sunday of every month between 8pm & 10pm. These exhibits will be born alongside the CoLab Jam Band, 70's kitch and Hip Hop beats. This month we are very excited to feature Community artist Jenn Garland. Jenn Garland is apart of the band of Community artists and plays and integral role in The Community art department. Garland will present her newest offerings of mixed media for the whole month of March. Her work has been featured in MD Limited Editions, at Ezra Pound, Condor Carpark, The Moon Cafe and many more public spaces around Perth. In two sentences she boiled her newest work down to this.."Jennifer Garland presents a body of work that explores the role of technology and mythology in the urban environment. Using acrylic paint, graphite and printmaking techniques she creates intricate pieces that reflect a sense of alienation whilst contrasting emotions of hope and dread." Right on we say! All pieces are for sale. So come on down and celebrate the new use of this space.
